HONG KONG/LEIPZIG, Germany: Nobel Biocare has introduced Hebe Tien as their new spokesperson for Asia during the company’s World Tour stop in Singapore last June. The 25-year-old superstar, who recently received all-ceramic Procera crowns for two of her upper teeth, is well known as a member of the girl group S.H.E and has appeared in several television shows and movies in Taiwan. She will represent Nobel’s line of aesthetic dental solutions at upcoming public events in the region.
According to Dr Robert Gottlander, Vice President of Global Marketing, his company hopes to raise awareness in Asia with this step for modern dental solutions that enhance people’s teeth. Nobel recently extended its reach into Asia with the acquisition of Implant Master who has a 30 per cent market share in Taiwan’s growing implant sector. Asia contributes a total of 15 per cent to Nobel Biocare’s global sales.
Singapore’s main convention centre Suntec was the third stop in this year’s World Tour calendar joining other locations around the world like Mumbai, Shanghai and Mexico City. Another Asian conference in Taiwan is scheduled for September 2008.
The Tour, which was held for the first time in 2006, features a scientific programme for dental professionals, poster competitions as well as events for the general public. In Singapore, approximately 600 people attended a three-hour seminar on the topic “The anatomy of a perfect smile” exceeding overall expectations of the manufacturer. Live satellite televised surgical treatments were also part of the line-up.
The Tour was supported by local dental experts such as members of Specialist Dental Group (SDG) from Singapore. Consultant Prosthodontist Dr Neo Tee Khin and Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr Ho Kok Sen contributed to the scientific programme while Consultant Prosthodontist Dr Ansgar Cheng spoke on the topic of “Perfect Smile: A Novel Technology for Today’s Treatment” at the public seminar. The SDG team and their associates also successfully submitted a total of nine posters for the poster programme competition and were able to take home four prizes, group officials said.
